EOS France and Veld Capital Strengthen Their Cooperation with a Record Investment in a Consumer Loan Portfolio
Hamburg, Germany, February 27, 2024
The portfolio, valued at 364 million euros (nominal value), is highly granular, consisting of over 125,000 small consumer loans in France, with an average balance of less than 3,000 euros. The portfolio is also highly cash-generative, with very low and affordable monthly payments and a weighted average aging of over two years. As a result, the underlying assets exhibit significant predictability and stability of payments. The assets were fully purchased by a securitization vehicle jointly financed by Veld and EOS, with the servicing being migrated to EOS.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the BNP Paribas Group, BNP Paribas Personal Finance is a major player in consumer financing in France and Europe, offering a wide range of consumer credit products.
Additional Information
EOS France, a subsidiary of the international EOS Group, is a leading expert in the purchase and servicing of debt portfolios with over 30 years of experience in the French market. Leveraging its excellent market knowledge and product expertise developed as a solution provider for European banks over its 14-year history, Veld targets investment opportunities benefiting from data-rich underwriting where it can utilize internal expertise as well as comparable proprietary data. Approximately 80% of Veld's investments since its inception have been made with banks and financial institutions as counterparties, often in repeat transactions, providing credibility and transactional certainty.
Nathalie Lameyre, CEO of EOS France, stated:
"We are very pleased to have finalized, with the support of Veld, one of the largest sales of consumer credit receivables ever conducted in France. This success is the result of many years of partnership and trust between BNP Paribas Personal Finance and EOS, in Europe and particularly in France."
Konstantin Karchinov, partner at Veld Capital, added:
"It has been a pleasure to participate in this transaction, the first investment of the fund in French consumer loans. The French market and our excellent relationship with EOS are two key sources of interesting opportunities as we begin 2024 and launch our fifth flagship fund, Credit Opportunities."
